At an overall
length approaching 56 feet and a beam just over 15 feet, the
Squadron 55 behaves much like a much smaller boat off the
line. The twin Caterpillar 3196 diesels quickly put it up
on plane with times worthy of a boat half its size. Its top
speed is 35.4 knots, with a cruising speed of around 19 knots.
There’s even an electrically operated
barbecue grill as a standard feature. It’s built into
the large folding dining table, which is the focal point of
the seating area.
The integrated swim platform doubles as
a landing pad for the “Zap Cat” stored in the
rear so clients can enjoy the adrenaline of wave jumping,
or even try out water skiing.
While the outside of the Squadron 55 evokes
movement and fun, the inside elicits a warm and inviting feeling.
Sumptuous furnishings, soft fabrics, magnificent joinery and
atmospheric lighting combine to create unmatched elegance.
The main saloon is configured around a C-shaped
lounge to port. An entertainment centre containing a bar,
liquor storage, audio/video gear and an ice-maker lines the
starboard side. Two steps above the main saloon and to port
is a dining area with another C-shaped seating arrangement.
The lower helm station opposite it has two seats that also
convert to stand-up bolsters.
